Description

A fanciful view of a nebula in a galaxy far, far away. I would not be surprised if somewhere, from some perspective, there was a nebula in which the form of that city-trashing monster Godzilla was readily apparent.

Source Image Background

What does an image of a Godzilla shaped nebula have to do with Mars? The planet seen in the foreground started out as a composite of two frames taken of Mars by the Viking Orbiter 2 as it approached that planet.

Image Processing

I used Adobe Photoshop for the processing of the Viking image frames, the creation of the star field and nebula, and the final compositing.
